Momentum’s Financial Literacy curriculum focuses on providing people with the knowledge and resources they need to develop a sustainable livelihood. Participants who attend the workshops #1-5 (can take 2, 4 & 5 directly through Momentum at no cost) will receive a certificate of completion in Money Management. Each workshop is 2 hours long and participants must fill in a registration form for reporting purposes (in addition to registering for this session).
In this session:
- Understand the differences between needs and wants and how it affects your spending habits
- Learn to track your expense and put together a budget
Jodie Moffat is a Financial Empowerment Facilitator at Momentum, a change-making organization that combines social and economic strategies to reduce poverty. In her role in Momentum’s Financial Empowerment department, Jodie leads the Money Management program including the On-Demand portion of the series. Jodie is a RSW and has many years experience working with vulnerable populations such as women and families at risk as well as Calgarians living on low income to reach their wellness goals.
