Open Access Week is October 22-28, which makes this the perfect time to understand and ask questions around this publishing and distribution model. The documentary Paywall: The Business of Scholarship focuses on the need for open access to academic research and questions the substantial profit of large academic publishers. Members of the MRU Community still learning about Open Access, as well as those well-versed in the movement are encouraged to attend this screening, which originally premiered in Washington, DC in September 2018.
