Learn Programming: Literacy, the Theory behind Programming (Beginner)
Join the Maker Studio staff to learn the basics about how to code. This workshop will give you a starting point to discover what languages you want to learn, and why these languages will be useful to you. Programming surrounds us. Code, alongside data, makes up the core of the various systems that connect the globe. Within this workshop, we will discuss the fundamentals of popular programming languages, such as Python, C, C#, Java and R language. Resources, like learnpython.org and books that you can pick up from the MRU library, will be provided at the end of the workshop so you can expand on your new skills and maybe even try coding for the first time in an online IDE, like repl.it!
