Dr. Ilan Kelman’s research interests involve the linking of disasters, health, and climate change. His main area of expertise include: i) disaster diplomacy; ii) island sustainability involving safe and healthy communities in isolated locations; and iii) risk education for health and disasters. Dr. Kelman founded the London Polar Group, edited the UCL Press books “Arcticness” and “Antarcticness”, and is on the UK Advisory Board of the Polar Research and Policy Initiative.
