Theme: Race, Multiculturalism, and Black Writings in Canada
This second edition of the African and Black Writings in Canada Speaker Series: Enhancing EDI Via Stories and Conversations focuses on the subjects of race, multiculturalism, and the place of Black Writings in Canada. Our guest will speak to their craft, publishing, being a Black Canadian writer resident in Calgary, Alberta, and the challenges of race and the (dis)pleasures of multiculturalism.
Guest Speaker: Cheryl Foggo, a novelist, memoirist, playwrights, screenwriter, and filmmaker (Foggo is also a recipient of MRU Honorary Doctor of Law, 2023)
There will be a conversation with the author after their presentation. The event is free and open to the public.
