SUMMARY:Beyond Borders for Cultural Competency: Discovering Guatemala
DESCRIPTION:Beyond Borders is a dynamic\, curiosity driven cultural 
 competency course designed to take participants on a journey across vibrant 
 cultures from around the world. Each month\, we’ll discover a new 
 cultural landscape—exploring its traditions\, values\, stories\, 
 rituals\, and ways of communicating that shape how people live\, connect\, 
 and belong. \n\nThis month\, we'll be exploring Guatemala. Led by Eva 
 Gonzalez\, we'll look at the sights\, sounds\, landscape\, arts\, and 
 sociopolitical underpinnings of what Guatemalan culture is today. Viva 
 Guate!\n\nAbout the presenter: Eva Gonzalez was born in Guatemala and has 
 lived in Canada since she was five years old. She has a degree in English 
 Literature from the University of Calgary and writes historical fiction in
